Eric Wilbur Talks About His Commitment

[MEDIA:32874]<BR> Eric Wilbur is a very talented place kicker and athlete. He committed to the University of Florida over Miami, UCF and Notre Dame. Read on and find out what Wilbur has to say about his decision.

Florida has added a commitment from one of the most sought after kickers in the south. Eric Wilbur had offers from Florida, Miami, UCF, and Notre Dame. Wilbur does a little bit of everything for Trinity Prep in Winter Park, FL, and he may do a little bit of everything for Florida in the near future.

"I kick, punt, play safety, wide receiver, and some quarterback," said Wilbur with a laugh. "Florida has talked to me about kicking and punting, and they also like me a little bit at safety. After last week, I told them that I also like to play wide receiver."

Wilbur has the size and athleticism to pull off a multi-faceted role, much like current Gator Ingle Martin. At 6-3 and 190 pounds, Wilbur currently runs a 4.5 forty. While it will be hard to keep him off the field at Florida, Wilbur's decision was an easy one.

"It pretty much came down to Miami and Florida. I've always been a Florida boy. My mom went to Florida, and I've been there on unofficials a bunch of times already. I called Coach Odom on Wednesday, and then I called Coach Zook on Thursday and let them know I was coming. I've been to a bunch of games at Florida and Miami this year. I'll probably only take my one official visit to Florida."

Wilbur's Trinity Prep team is 5-2 on the season, and they are looking to make a playoff run. With the pressure of recruiting behind him Wilbur can now focus his season and the stretch run.
