RECAP: Florida 6A Finals

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The nation's No. 1 ranked team proved to be too much for Orlando Boone to handle on Saturday night, capturing their second straight state championship with a 41-0 win over the Braves.

Florida commit Jeremy Brown helped lead Boone High School to the state title game in 2007 after falling one game short last year, but they ran into an overpowering Northwestern Bulls team. The Bulls dominated Orlando Boone defensively in the first half, and then their offense really got going in the second.

Brown suffered a hamstring injury and was a non-factor for much of the second half.

Boone couldn't do anything offensively, and untimely turnovers, including junior James Washington's fumble on the 1-yard line in the closing minutes of the second quarter prevented the Braves from getting any momentum.

Bulls' defensive tackle Marcus Forston was dominating inside, posting six tackles, four for a loss and earned player of the game honors. The Bulls held Boone's offense to just 100 yards of total offense. Boone got just 11 first downs and five of them came via penalty.
