Armstrong Begins Spring Practice

Seminole High School ended the 2007 season on a high note, but the talented group failed to earn a berth in the state playoffs. With a team full of talent back for 2008, linebacker Ray Ray Armstrong believes Seminole High can make a run for a state title.

The first step towards the 2008 season took place on Tuesday.

"We looked pretty good out there today," said Armstrong. "Today was the first day of practice. Everybody is just getting back into it. We are out there in full pads now."

This spring Ray Ray is working to improve each facet of his game, especially the intangibles.

"I am working on my leadership," explained Armstrong. "I am working hard to be an example to the other guys. I think we can go all the way this year. We have a lot of talent and everybody is kind of hyping us up. I think we can do it."

The first day of practice brought out college recruiters in droves.

"Miami, USC and South Carolina were out there today," said the hard hitting linebacker. "Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi State have all been by the school. A lot of other college coaches are coming next week too."

The large number of visitors should come as no surprise. Armstrong has put together a rather lengthy offer list.

"I have over 20 offers now," said Ray Ray. "I am still open right now though. I don't have any favorites. Everybody is pretty much the same right now. I am looking for a place where I can get on the field and we can win. I am looking for a good atmosphere where I can get along with all of the other players."
