Jordan Love profile
Can you update your current height, weight and 40 time?
"6-0, 185-pounds and 4.43."
Who has offered you at this time?
"University of Florida, Georgia, University of Tennessee, Penn State, Wake Forest, University of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Louisville and Rutgers."
Who do you think is close to offering?
"The others who have expressed interest are Notre Dame, Purdue, Ohio State and Virginia Tech."
Who is recruiting you the most?
"Each team that has offered has been strong."
What schools or camps have you been to?
"I've been to Notre Dame and Wake Forest camps, games and junior days. I've also gone to junior days and spring practices at Penn State and Louisville. I've been to Rutgers for a game and visited the campuses of Florida and West Virginia. I also went to junior day at Uconn. There were a number of spring practices and spring games that I was invited to but due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to attend."
What sticks out most about your Gainesville visit?
"It would have to be how friendly everyone was in Gainesville and how nice the campus and facilities were. And the sunshine."
What do you know about Florida and Urban Meyer?
"As a sophomore, my mom, best friend and grandmother took our spring break trip to visit Florida because I have always been a fan of the SEC and Florida. We also have the college football package, so I watched the SEC and saw every game that Florida played, so you can say that I know Coach Meyer."
What summer plans, if any, do you have?
"I will be visiting UF the day after school ends here in Virginia. I will also visit Tennessee and Georgia."
What factors are you and your family using to make your decision?
"The coaching staff, academic reputation, graduation rates and the academic support. My parents are looking for a safe environment and team character. I'm also looking for an opportunity to play."
Will distance be a factor?
"No, but don't tell my Mom."
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
"My strengths include having a good attitude, I love football, I have good hips, I'm explosive, I have good leaping ability, hands, speed and I'm a good tackler. The things I need to work on is a question I ask each coach who is recruiting me, and they say play hard every play."
How did your team finish last season?
"We finished at 500. I started JV as a freshman playing both ways as tailback, wide receiver, defensive back and kick/punt returner. I started varsity as a sophomore playing both ways as defensive back, tailback, wide receiver and kick/punt returner. I recently transferred to Deep Run during my junior year because of a job transfer for my mom. I also started in basketball as a four. I'm a high jumper, long jumper and anchor for my 4X100 team. I will play defensive back, tailback and wide receiver during my senior year, and I am looking forward to the season opener."
Mom and Dad on the recruiting process…
"It's really been a blessing. We have been carting this kid around since he weighed 55 pounds so his hard work is paying off. We just want to make certain he stays grounded and chooses a place where he has the opportunity to make a positive contribution. We have visited a lot on our own dime but we believe it is well worth it in order to make an informed decision, which will have implications beyond football. This is about him getting a great education while doing something he absolutely loves. And for us, it does not matter were that is, we will be there. He is truly a blessed kid and to date it has been unbelievable. At 17, he is meeting some of the best coaches in football and they want him to play on their team. Pretty amazing."
