Richardson Showing Interest in the Gators

With Kestahn Moore graduating, the Gators are looking for a big, physical back to replace him in the backfield. Enter Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia High School standout Trent Richardson.

Trent Richardson stands 5-11, 210-pounds and runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. He's a punishing back who fights his way for extra yards and can break tackles with the best of them. Once he gets into the secondary, there's little chance of smaller defensive backs bringing him down.

As a junior, Richardson rushed for 1,490 yards in just seven games, earning Class 5A All State Second Team honors. He missed his sophomore season due to injury, but he had a solid spring and he's moving up the ranks currently rated as's No. 17 running back overall and a four-star prospect.

Richardson reports offers from more than 20 schools including the Gators, but it's LSU who most likely has the lead for his services. Florida, however, is listed among his leaders.

Richardson recently had this to say about the Gators according to LSU's Scout site

Florida: "I would be following the line of Emmitt Smith. It kind of scares me because I don't know how they are going to run the ball. This season I should be able to look and see how things really play out. My brother has been recruited by a lot of schools, so I like that he will be on my visit there with me."

Richardson has also said he will be very interested in what offensive linemen are recruited by the schools he's considering.
