Geffard Drawing Attention

Oakland Park (Fla.) linebacker Isaac Geffard led Northeast High School with 100 tackles last season. At 6-3, 190-pounds and a 40-time around 4.5, he's starting to get some serious attention from some major schools.

In addition to his 100 tackles, Isaac Geffard also had nine sacks, forced five fumbles and deflected eight passes as a junior. He updated us on his recruiting.

Can you list the current offers you have?

"Louisville, FIU, Iowa State, South Carolina, and Marshall. I would receive a lot more but I am waiting on my academics to improve."

Who is showing you interest that you think is close to offering you?

"UCF and Minnesota."

Who is recruiting you the hardest from the offers that you have?


What schools have you visited in the past or are planning to visit in the future?

"UCF, Miami, the Nike Camp in Gainesville and Miami, and I am currently at the D-1 camp at Nova Southern. I plan on visiting Iowa State, Louisville, and other schools that are currently offering me right now."

What do you know about the Gators?

"I grew up watching a lot of Florida football and I know the Gators have produced many big names. What I like about the defensive side of the ball is they play young kid's and have a very aggressive style."

Can you talk about your relationship with coach Billy Gonzales?

"Coach Gonzales is a very good guy, that is very honest. I can say we both have interest in each other and are trying to build a mutual friendship as far as a coach and a student athlete."

What's the best part of your game and what do you need to improve on?

"The best part of my game is my speed and aggression. I need to improve on my mental reps."

Where do the Gators stand for you right now?

"They stand in the same spot as every one else because I am interested in a lot of schools right now."

Being a twin, is it a safe assumption that you and Jacob will/want to go to the same school for college or have you talked about going to different schools?

"No, we both really want to go to the same school."

What factors will you use in determining you decision?

"Playing time, education and my parents."

What kind of time frame do you have for making that decision?

"Sometime during my senior year."

What was your favorite team growing up and favorite college player?

"Florida State and Derrick Brooks."
