Knicks Taking a "Peep" at another Gator

It appears that former Gator guard Anthony Roberson will be reunited with his former teammate David Lee in a New York Knicks uniform. Various reports say Roberson will join the Knicks on a two-year deal worth for the NBA minimum for three year veterans, just less than $800,000.

It's a great opportunity for Roberson who could be an excellent fit in the wide open style of the Knicks new coach Mark D'Antoni. He spent last season playing professionally in Israel and Turkey. Previously he played in 15 games for Memphis during the 2005-06 season and 20 games for Golden State the following season.

It's obviously been a struggle for Roberson since leaving the Gators after his junior season of 2005. In his three years as a Gator he scored more than 1,500 points ranking him 11th in school history. He set new records for 3-point shooting, but those records were destroyed by Lee Humphrey within two years.

Roberson joins David Lee who has been with the Knicks for the past two years and is one of the top rebounders in the NBA. The two spent three years together in Gainesville helping the Gators to a 69-27 record, three NCAA bids and the SEC Tournament Title in 2005.
