From Seffner (Fla.) Armwood High School, Ryne Giddins ended his junior campaign with more than 90 tackles and 21 sacks. Even more impressive than what he did on the field was the battles that he had everyday in practice against current Gator Matt Patchan.
Giddins is at, or near, the top of the board at the defensive end position, and that is no secret. Where he ends up is. I like the fact that coach Callahan dealt with the Florida staff on a regular basis last year in regards to Matt Patchan, but the team to beat in my opinion is South Florida.
Giddins is supposed to be in the process of setting up a visit to Florida with his mother in the near future and that visit will go a long way in determining where he plays his college ball. Right now, I say look out for the Bulls but the Gators are squarely in the mix for one of the state's top defensive ends.
