Meyer Looking for Improvement from Gators

The Florida Gators suffered a setback after Saturday's loss to Ole Miss, but with Georgia losing as well, their goal of reaching the SEC Championship is still well in sight. Urban Meyer talked about that among other things during his Sunday teleconference.

On the blocked PAT…
"One guy hurdled and one guy went through the line. We did not protect it well."

On Georgia's loss and goals still in sight…
"It was a tough, devastating loss for us. But there are two teams in the league with two losses already, and Vanderbilt is undefeated. Our job is correct our mistakes and get ready to go on the road."

On evaluating the offensive philosophy…
"There's always evaluation of offense. The fourth quarter was very good, very high level. There were six times that we gave the ball to the defense in bad field position. We had three turnovers on offense, which is unacceptable, and we had some big play opportunities on offense. We also have some injuries on the offensive line, which we need to evaluate."

On injuries…
"Tartt hs a sore shoulder. Stamper has a sprained ankle. Marcus Gilbert and Emmanuel Moody have sprained ankles. Cunningham is fine. Will Hill has a sore hamstring."

On the offensive line without Jim Tartt
"The thing he provides is that he's such an invested player. I'm not finished with the complete evaluation of the offensive line, but I don't think there's a big difference in the level of player. But there is in experience and leadership, which is a big thing in this league."

On the fumbles…
"Two of them were ball security issues. We were loose with ball and we need to work on it this week."

On Tim Tebow's post-game speech…
"I didn't hear it. … That's Tim. Everything he says, he does. We're all anxious to get back to work. Tim's going to work and we're going to have a tough week of practice."

On Tartt's shoulders…
"The poor guy is the toughest human being there is. He feels good for a week, and then feels bad. It's just wear and tear on his shoulder."

On the four big plays allowed by the defense…
"One was a blown coverage and one was a missed tackle and one was a cover two where they split us. Yeah, it's very alarming. If you take away those big plays, the special teams, and turnovers on offense, it really crushed us as far as field position. When you hold them down there it's really tough to score. Missed tackles and coverage mishaps are going to result in scores."

On receivers dropped passes…
"It's surprising and disappointing. If you count the number of times we were open behind them and the drops it's a couple 100 yards of offense. And then we lose the game. That's the way it is."
