Schools like Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Texas and Southern Cal are trying to land the four-star standout. Jones has been trying to get to Florida for sometime now but it hasn't worked out, something that he is not real happy about. Before the season started his plan was to come to at least three games, Miami, LSU and one more-maybe Kentucky. He wasn't able to attend for the Miami game and due to a scheduling conflict with his high school game won't be able to attend the LSU game either.
He has one official visit set up at this time to Texas. Some say that Texas is the sleeper for Jarvis but at the end of the day I don't think he goes that far from home. He had a marginal time in attendance for Alabama and Georgia this past Saturday night and I don't believe that Georgia will be much of a factor when all is said and done. He has gone on record as saying that he grew up a fan of the Gators and that is about as far as he will go when talking about any of his remaining schools. Jarvis takes the recruiting process in stride and doesn't let any of it bother him or control him. He will take his time make the visits that he wants to make and decide when he is ready.
An exceptionally gifted basketball player, Jones has a natural ability about him in whatever he does. On the football field he is a man among boys and while teams try to scheme away from him it doesn't stop him from making plays.
The Gators have continued to pursue him very hard and have a great shot to land one of the best linebackers in the country. The important thing will be if/when he takes his visit to Florida, which I am being told by numerous people in the Jones camp including Jarvis himself that it will happen. With the linebacker spot being a need position this year and the top two linebackers still on the board for the Gators in Jon Bostic and Jones they have a chance to not only land both but land two of the better looking linebacker prospects in the country.
My Take - Jarvis Jones
