My Take - Jarvis Jones

Jarvis Jones is one of the most athletic linebackers in the country, at 6-4, 226-pounds there isn't much the Carver High School standout can't accomplish on the football field. Jones like Jon Bostic is one of the two most talked about linebackers among Florida football fans.

Jones told me before the season that he was planning on taking in at least three Gator games this year with Miami, LSU and one more. Things changed along the way and Jones wasn't able to attend the Miami game even though he wanted to go.

Next up is LSU on Saturday night in The Swamp but Carver plays a game that day, making Jarvis 0-2 in attempts to take in the atmosphere of The Swamp. I don't believe that you can gauge his interest in the Gators based on the fact that he hasn't made it in for these two games, although that is an easy thing to do.

I do however expect Jones to attend either the Kentucky or South Carolina this year and if neither of those visits happen then you may have cause for concern but as long as he makes it in for one of those games I think things will work out just fine. I do not believe that Georgia is a player for Jones and with Clemson struggling a bit this year they may be dropping as well. Jarvis has gone on record in the past as saying that he followed the Gators growing up and that is never a bad thing. The two teams you may want to keep an eye on would be LSU and Texas.
