Focused on the Game Plan

With a win on Saturday, the Florida Gators clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. But with a win against the Gators and some help from South Carolina, Vanderbilt could potentially reach Atlanta. It's for that reason that Florida's focus this week has not been on what could happen with a win.

Head coach Urban Meyer is more concerned with Florida's execution this weekend and sticking to the plan to win than worrying about what might happen should the Gators walk out of Nashville with a win.

"We've not beat that up very bad on purpose," Meyer said. "We're playing a team that beat Auburn and beat South Carolina and they're battling for first in the SEC East. They know. I haven't had a lot of discussion about it. We've had a lot of discussion about how you win the game, not what happens if we win it."

As a result the Gators have had a good week of practice. Meyer said the team is ready and the guys still nursing some nagging injuries are available for the weekend.

"Everybody's healed up," Meyer said. "Moody looks pretty good. Jim Tartt's the guy who we're still managing his shoulder, but he should be ready to play. Maurice Hurt is ready to play. Those are the two with chronic injuries that we're just trying to manage right now."

Meyer said they're not looking to use Tartt sparingly. They would prefer to have him out on the field for the full game.

"When he's healthy and ready to go he's a guy we'd like to have in that lineup," he said. "We plan on him playing."

Backup quarterback Cameron Newton is in better shape after missing some time following a car accident on Tuesday.

"Cam is better," Meyer said. "He had some headaches and they kept him out of practice for a day to day and a half, but he's fine."

Moody is the guy Meyer is excited about, though. The tailback had a big fourth quarter during Georgia and has really had his first full practice since early in the season.

"He's practiced real well," Meyer said. "He's running real hard. We don't have a set number of plays for them. There are certain plays that some guys are better than others. We take that into consideration. We also look at a hot hand. It just feels good to have four healthy tailbacks."

With preparations for Vandy just about done, Meyer is going to try and take in some college football on Thursday night. There's a huge match up in the Mountain West conference between No. 11 ranked TCU and Meyer's former team the No. 10 ranked Utah Utes. Both teams are undefeated and the winner will have a shot at a BCS berth.

"It's a real big night for them against a real good team," Meyer said. "I'm going to try to catch a lot of it. A big Utah fan."
