Florida Commit to Still Take Visits

Dwight Stephenson is a 6-3, 220-pound defensive line prospect from Boca Raton (Florida) Pope John Paul II, and there's been some question as to whether or not Dwight is fully committed to Florida or if he's still open to visits. Well, the answer is... both.

"I told them (Florida) that I was still committed to them but I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision, to see if there's a better situation out there," Stephenson told Dawgman.com. "They aren't happy with it, but they understand.

"They are pretty much in the lead but I'm still wide open. It's time to take my visits and make a proper decision."

Dwight will be visiting Florida this weekend, and has one other visit set up - to Tennessee in January (1/10). He's also set on visiting Washington in January as well.

Here are his thoughts on the three schools he's now considering.

Florida - "I like the weather. Cold weather is hard for me to deal with, but if I have to deal with it, I have to deal with it. It's a good school and a good football program and a good opportunity so far, but I want to go to other schools to compare. I've been there before but I haven't been to other schools yet."

Tennessee - "They have tradition and are a big football school. There's a great opportunity for me there too."

Washington - "I know people that went there so the transition wouldn't be that bad. It's also a great school and great program. The only downthing is the weather, but I could get through that if I went there."

Dwight still keeps in touch with Rich Alexis and Charles 'ET' Frederick, his former teammates at Pope and both current Huskies. "I talked to ET over Thanksgiving break," Stephenson said. "It was just a minute. I saw him at a football game."
