Florida Drops OL

Florida is the latest team to drop the big offensive tackle from North Carolina. Derek Morris was scheduled to visit Florida this weekend.

A lot of teams were excited when offensive tackle prospect Derek Morris became available once again. The former All-American offensive tackle prospect from North Carolina, was released from his letter of intent with Ohio State. Since, many teams have come and gone. The most recent is Florida. He was scheduled for an official visit to Gainesville this coming weekend but the Gators are the latest team to drop the huge lineman.

"Florida dropped us," said his father, Derrick, Sr. "They are all afraid of the NCAA and certain allegations. It is a shame."

For now, Morris is set on visiting NC State (12-15) in the middle of next week and Maryland (12-20) next weekend.

"It has been stressful," said Derrick, Jr. "Not because of what is going on but because I just can't play. I have just been hanging out and working out. I am excited about Maryland and NC State. They are two good programs."
