Elam, Dwyer Advancing in State Playoffs

The Florida Gators landed a huge verbal commitment from the class of 2010 when Palm Beach Garden (FL) Dwyer standout safety Matt Elam decided to become a Florida Gator.

Often times when players make their intentions known with regards to recruiting you don't get a chance to hear from them anymore. I have had a lot of requests from each of you on getting more updates from the 2009 and 2010 current group of Gators. Bob and I are always giving you our take on any and all things related to the Florida Gators but I thought it would be a nice change of pace to get the recruits take. We start with Matt Elam.

"We are in the second round of the playoffs against Fort Pierce Westwood," Elam said. "On the year, I have 33 rushing attempts for 384 yards and four touchdowns, 28 receptions for 639 yards and eight touchdowns to go a long with 58 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and ten tackles for a loss."

Elam gave us his prediction on how the Florida Gators will finish the season.

"The Gators will destroy Florida State," Elam said. "The Gators will destroy Alabama. The Gators will play Oklahoma for the national title and win the game 56-21."

Elam talked about what it means to be a Florida Gator.

"It means a lot to me to be a Gator," he said. "The Gators are so successful and they kill everyone. I love the fans and the coaches. I enjoy watching the Gators play every week and putting a whooping on everyone with their unstoppable weapons on offense and their dominating defense. I cant wait to be a part of it in 2010."
