Weekend Visitor List

In what looks to be one of the big recruiting weekends the Florida Gators will host a number of the nation's finest players.

The Gators will bring in anywhere from 12-15 players this weekend with three of the four committed - offensive linemen Jon Halapio, Nick Alajajian and Jonotthan Harrison. I love that all three of these players are coming in together this weekend. As we all know chemistry is a large part of a team's success especially on the offensive line and the more time these guys spend together the better off they will be in the long run.

A total of five current Gator commitments will be in town this weekend as Kedric Johnson and Dee Finley will both make the trip.

Two players that were thought to be visiting this weekend will not make the trip both for different reasons. Brandon Moore has basketball games this weekend and Je'Ron Stokes is holding off until coach Urban Meyer will be in town. Meyer will be away a portion of this weekend at the Heisman Trophy ceremony with Tim Tebow.

I have mentioned over the last several weeks or so that you can expect the Gators to add one more defensive tackle in this year's class and they will host three very good ones this weekend with Latu Heimuli, Edwin Herbert (JUCO) and William Campbell.

Keeping with the defensive side of the ball, the Gators will bring in Michael Carter, Jr. and sensational linebacker Jelani Jenkins.

Rantavious Wooten told me several weeks ago that he is scheduled and will take his official visit to Florida this weekend but that remains to be seen. Another prospect high on the board for the Gators is linebacker Jon Bostic. I can tell you at this moment in time that no one knows if he will be in Gainesville or not this weekend outside of the family. Time will tell on Wooten and Bostic with regards to their visit to Gainesville this weekend.

I was expecting a few more this weekend but with the staff being out on the road taking in various championship games as well as Meyer being in New York with Tebow for the trophy presentation I believe the staff will push back a few visits that were scheduled for this weekend. I suspect that come early next week the Gators' commitment list will indeed grow.

I will hold a recruiting chat tonight from 10-11 p.m. to answer any and all questions you might have about this weekend's visitor list or any other potential players that might still be in play.
