UF Gets JUCO OG

[MEDIA:32875]The Gators hosted three Junior College offensive line prospects over the weekend... a center, guard and tackle. For now, they got one verbal commitment out of it.

Cerritos Junior College offensive guard prospect Anthony Guerrero is headed east. Guerrero, from Norwalk, California, has decided he wants to play his college football in Gainesville, Florida.

"I committed to the Gators this weekend," said Guerrero. "It is so beautiful. I just had a great time and I felt real comfortable. Everyone was so cool. Coach Wickline is a character and I really think I will like playing for him. Coach Zook is full of energy and seems like a great guy. Once I got to Florida, I knew it... it was a no brainer."

Guerrero, 6-3 and 320 pounds, will play guard at Florida. He also visited Nebraska, Arizona and Kansas. Guerrero went to Downey High School in California and was recruited by most of the PAC 10 schools. But his SAT was low and he had to attend Cerritos JUCO.

"It was a blessing in disguise. I needed to work on my academics. I am better for it."

Guerrero will sign on Wednesday. In fact, he and his family will have a little party at his house. Then, he is off to Gainesville for practice. Guerrero will have three years to play two. At Florida, he will play guard.

"I think I am a pretty versatile lineman and I love to finish off blocks. I know they are looking for aggressive guys and I think I will fit right in. I can't wait to sign. I can't wait to start the Bowl practice. I am ecstatic that I am going to be a Gator."
