Five-Star Brown's Phone on Fire

Marlon Brown is one of the busiest guys in America this time of year. A bigtime basketball player in high school, the Memphis Harding Academy wide receiver is one of the more coveted prospects in the country in football as well. Coaches from all over the country have been trying to nail him down and get him committing, and other committed prospects are doing the same.

Brown is down to five schools now and each of the five have their respective benefits at the moment. Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, and Florida are all working hard to push for Brown's commitment on signing day. He has been to see almost all of them and talks about each.

Georgia: "They have a young team and Coach Richt and Eason are two down to earth guys to talk to. (Georgia quarterback commitment) Aaron Murray is probably the coolest dude I have ever talked to. He calls me about girls, video games, and all kinds of stuff.

Ohio State: "Coach Tressel he's real honest guy and I enjoy calling him. They have young quarterback and he is real good. They have a young offensive line and they are good too. (Freshman quarterback) Terrel Pryor calls me and (running back commitment) Jamaal Berry calls me a lot."

LSU: "(Quarterback commitment) Russell Sheppard is a top quarterback from my class. He calls me a lot. I think out of all the guys that call, Aaron Murray and Russell Sheppard call me the most. Sheppard talks to me about how the football and basketball players are the best from Texas."

Tennessee: "(Tennessee Running Back Coach Stan Drayton) from Tennessee came by today (Wednesday). He just came by to see what's up. I'm going to go on my visit there and am just going to find out what the coach is all about. The coaches are cool to talk to."

Florida is the last team he is looking at and a late January visit could bode well. Brown said there is a lot to like about the Gators.

"Florida has a dominant team," he said. "I think they have a great team every year. I really like that they will have to replace some of their top receivers. I like the offense a lot.

"Today Coach 'G' (Wide Receiver Coach Billy Gonzales) came by from Florida today (Wednesday). Coach 'G' is intense and makes me laugh a lot too. He tells me I would be the X receiver in the offense."

Once again Marlon Brown knows that the people at the school he chooses will be the main reasons he chooses that school.

"The coaches and the players and how comfortable I feel around them," he said. "That is going to be the biggest thing for me and my selection."
