"We just walked off the practice field and today went great," Nick Alajajian said. "We played with a lot of intensity today and things are looking good."
To his surprise Alajajian is playing center for his team this week - a position that is new to him but there is a method to the madness.
"When we first arrived and were on the practice field, the coach asked all the offensive linemen if anyone knew how to snap the ball and I told him that I could snap it," he said. "Next thing, I know I am playing center all week. It's not that big of a deal. I used to always practice the shotgun snap in high school with my coach. I just don't have a lot of experience doing it in games. Right now we are going to go eat lunch and then we have a special teams practice later today. After that I am not sure what they have in store for us."
Alajajian is the guy that Florida had to have and they landed him relatively early in the process. He has that nasty mentality that you want your offensive linemen to possess. He finishes blocks extremely well and loves to put people on the ground. He does what I like to call block to the echo of the whistle and brings 110 percent on each and every play. The game of football is won and lost on the offensive lines and the Gators hands down are bringing in the top offensive line class in America and will add one more before it's all said and done.
