Kasa Looking to Impress in San Antonio

The last three commitments landed by the Florida Gators have been on the defensive side of the ball with four-star Marsalis Teague on December 18, four-star Edwin Herbert on December 14, and five-star defensive end Nick Kasa on November 17. Kasa is the No. 4 ranked defensive end in the nation according to Scout.com.

At 6'7, 235-pounds, Nick Kasa was a terror during his senior year and his athletic ability coupled with fantastic speed coming off the edge has carried over through the first two days of practice in San Antonio against some of the nation's top talent.

"I tell you what, I didn't have a whole lot of expectations when I first arrived and saw how big everyone was but things couldn't be going better at this point in time through the first two days of practice," Kasa said. "I haven't had a chance to do much weight training because of basketball but have had a lot of success rushing the passer."

"Right now we are on the bus heading over to Six Flags and last night we went to the Missouri/Northwestern game," he said. "Tomorrow we have a light day of practice. I think around an hour and a half or so then lunch followed up by our afternoon special teams practice."

My Take:
Kasa has flown a bit under the radar this season especially for a player that is ranked fourth in the nation at his position, but he has opened up a lot of people's eyes this week with his incredible first step and ability to get around the tackle on seemingly every snap.
