Jones Having Fun in San Antonio

Jarvis Jones (6-4/225) has been one of the most talked about recruits in the country. With offers from Florida, Georgia, Texas, Southern Cal, LSU, Miami and many others much has been made about his future destination. caught up with Jones shortly after today's practices were over.

"Man things are going real good right now for me," Jarvis Jones said. "I am moving around at a very high pace and making plays when I get the chance. I still have the hard cast on but they have done such a good job with extra padding it's almost as if I have a soft cast on to tell you the truth. And it's not really limiting me in anyway on the football field."

A lot has been made with all that's going on this week in San Antonio, but Jones said that everyone is leaving recruiting out this week.

"This for me is a chance to get away from home and measure myself against the top high school players in America and guys that I will see at the next level," Jones said. "The recruiting pressures haven't really been there for me to tell you the truth, so that's been a good thing. We are all out here hanging and having a good time."

One of the hottest topics of conversation has been room assignment and especially with Jones who is staying this week with Georgia commitment Aaron Murray.

"I have spent a lot of time with Aaron Murray, Orson Charles and Chris Burnett," he said. "We've just been chillin' out. For the most part it has been a lot of fun."

Jones did decide to have a little fun with Murray last night.

"Man I was so tired last night when we were at the Missouri/Northwestern game, I wasn't even really paying attention to tell you the truth," he said. "But on the bus ride back I have a G1 so I went to You-Tube and started playing the University of Florida fight song and he didn't like that at all, but it was pretty funny to me."

My Take:
Florida, LSU, Southern Cal, Texas all have been mentioned as possible destinations for linebacker Jarvis Jones but the in-state school should never be counted out especially for a player that is being recruited as hard as this one is. This could very well come down to another Florida/Georgia battle.
