Nation's Number One Tackle Commits at USAAB

Offensive tackle Xavier Nixon of Jack Britt High School announced at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that he will be heading to the University of Florida to play ball at the next level.

U.S. Army All-American Xavier Nixon today announced that he will be playing football for Florida. This ends an intense recruiting battle between Florida, LSU and Miami.

Nixon is's number one tackle in the nation and has been impressive throughout the week at the USAAB practice sessions. He is very aggressive and uses his long arms and quick feet to keep defenders from gaining leverage against him. His aggressive tendencies helps him get to the second level and getting at linebackers, and his mean streak punishes those who he goes after. He is very strong also, so defensive linemen cannot use their strength to push through him.

Xavier Nixon on why he choose Florida: The atmosphere of the games, the coaching staff felt like family, the opportunities at the school is a great chance for me to play early and I felt at home.

Xavier Nixon on if there was any other team that was close to getting him to commit: "Miami was really close, I really wanted to go to Miami it was just a better opportunity for me at Florida. "

Xavier Nixon on what was the deciding factor on choosing Florida: "The deciding factor was the opportunity to possibly play early at left tackle, that is pretty much the only factor."
