Richardson 100% Gator; not visiting elsewhere

Rumors have been swirling about Nu'keese Richardson and an apparent plan to visit other schools than the University of Florida, where he is committed. The Gators, fresh off a National Championship had to deal with the news today and made sure business is as usual with the primetime receiver from Pahokee.

Reports surfaced earlier Friday that Nu'keese Richardson may be wavering on his commitment to Florida and looking around. At the Under Armour All-American he said he was to be planning on making a trip to visit Ohio State, South Carolina, and Florida. A couple of text messages and a quick call to Richardson and FightinGators.com came down with the facts.

Indeed, Richardson did say he would visit the Buckeyes and the Gamecocks. However, he made the rash decision under false pretenses. According to Richardson, a current Miami commitment has been in his ear that wide receiver coach Billy Gonzales would be leaving the Gators and taking a position with the Volunteers.

According to Richardson, Gonzales called Nu'keese today to inform him that it just wasn't true.

"Dyron Dye told me that Coach 'G' was going to coach at Tennessee and trying to get me to come there," Richardson said. " Coach 'G' called me today and told me he is staying at Florida to win some more championships."

Richardson did tell another site that he would be taking trips to Florida, Ohio State, and South Carolina. OSU commitments Jamaal Berry and Duron Carter were recruiting Richardson hard all week in Orlando at the Under Armour event and had a little impact on him. He has since changed his tune.

"Jamaal Berry and Duron (Carter) were recruiting me, but now I am pushing for them to come with me to Gainesville," Richardson said.

Berry is set to officially visit Florida on January 16. Richardson will likely join him on that date unless his current paper work clears for him to enroll early. The odds aren't in his favor to enroll early, but it could happen.
