Gillespie Leaves HBC

Former Gator running back Robert Gillespie is leaving Steve Spurrier's coaching staff at South Carolina. Gillespie, who has coached Gamecocks' runners as both a graduate assistant and as running backs coach is taking the same position on the staff at Oklahoma State. He is expected to receive a 50 percent increase from his reported $95,000 salary in Columbia.

Gillespie was an excellent all-purpose back with the Gators from 1998 thru 2001. He rushed for 1,854 yards and caught passes for another 1,091. He is one of only three players in school history to top the 1,000 yard mark in both categories along with Errict Rhett and Percy Harvin.
