Greg Reid on the Gators

Greg Reid has been one of the most talked about recruits in the nation over the last couple of weeks. The former Gator commitment, now open among three, just finished with his official visit to title town.

Greg Reid is an electric playmaker on both sides of the ball from Valdosta (GA) Lowndes High School and stands 5-9, 170-pounds with 4.45-speed.

"I like this place I really do. Playing time is going to be an issue," Reid said shortly after he arrived home.

One of the biggest question marks heading into this visit for Reid was which position he would play at the University of Florida. Early on in the process it appeared as if he might find his way on the offensive side of the ball but all indications are that he would in fact play corner back for the Gators. Heading into this visit Reid planned to talk to corner backs coach Vance Bedford about his abilities and speak with the head Gator Urban Meyer.

On Meyer:
"It was very cool. He was straight and Coach Meyer was cool but very powerful when we sat down and talked. Talking with him makes you feel like committing."

On Bedford:
"I also had a chance to talk with corner backs coach Vance Bedford and he was just telling me about the opportunities and chances that I would have with him and Florida."

"Overall I would say the visit was a 6 out of 10 (including playing time). The best part of the trip I thought was checking out the facilities and I spent most of my time on campus with Joe Haden."

I will go into more detail tonight in chat around 10:00 p.m. His final three are Florida, Georgia and Florida State.
