Boone Still Leaning to UF

It means a little more when you can get a local guy to commit and play for the Florida Gators. Ocala Trinity Catholic wide receiver Kadron Boone visited Gainesville for the first junior day for the 2010 class and he came away sold on the way Florida takes care of their players. The Gators have been in the lead for Boone for a little while and they remain status quo with the big time receiver.

Like a few of the prospects Fightin' Gators talk to on Saturday, Kadron Boone was impressed with the academic presentation that the Gators brought to the table for all of the class of 2010 prospects.

"I saw everything I had seen before, but I got a better look at the academics and that was really good," Boone said. They were really stressing how good the academics are. Mine are pretty good, I just have to get one class straightened out and I will be alright. I can take it online and be good."

Boone is on a mission to make sure that he can start when he is supposed to start school as a college freshman. Nothing else matters to him at the moment.

"I don't have any plans to visit anywhere else," he said. "Right now, my biggest thing is getting that class taken care of. Pretty much it's the same with me and Florida. Once I heard about their graduation rate being 100 percent that really made me think. It went real well today."

The Gators are close to home and seem to have everything that Boone is looking for in a program. He understands the importance that Florida stresses on his school work, he also knows that Gator coaching staff knows how to bring out the best in their players, led by wide receiver coach Billy Gonzales.

"I am leaning towards Florida right now," he said. "The passion of the coaching staff appeals to me. You don't find coaching staffs as passionate as those guys. I love 'Coach G' (Gonzales) and I met the rest of the coaching staff today as well. There just isn't anybody as passionate as those guys."

Boone may be ready to commit to Florida, but he understands that to do things right, he has to take care of business in the class room first.

"I don't want to end up committing somewhere and then I have to end up going somewhere else because of this class," he said. "I just have to take care of this class first."
