South Florida 2010 Talent on Display Sunday

For those ready to get the 2010 recruiting class started a good place to look for talent will be on South Beach Sunday where the South Florida Express is looking to form a traveling 7-on-7 team for the season. Brett Goetz heads up the team and has rounded up some real talent from South Florida. A lot of the names are pretty familiar to those that follow recruiting, but some will likely surprise.

At quarterback, the Express has brought in a couple of south Florida's finest. 2010 elite signal caller Jeffrey Godfrey (6-0, 175) of Miami Central will be on hand. Godfrey attended Florida's Friday Night Lights last year. Super sophomore Teddy Bridgewater (6-3, 170) of powerhouse Miami Northwestern will also be there to show what he can do. Bridgewater is a very good looking 2011 prospect.

A lot of familiar names to Gator fans don the running back list that is expected to attend. Eduardo Clements (5-11, 190) of Miami Booker T. Washington, Cassius McDowell (5-9, 165) of Deerfield Beach, Brandon Gainer (5-11, 185) of Miami Central, Ethan Grant (5-10, 175) of Coconut Creek North Broward, and Corvin Lamb (5-9, 180) Miami Northwestern form a group that has size, speed and a whole lot of ability.

At wide receiver, the Gators are looking to sign three to four in 2010 and don't bet against one or two that are expected in attendance Sunday to end up on the Gators commitment list. Quinton Dunbar (6-3, 170) of Miami Booker T. Washington, Ted Meline (6-2, 170) of Davie Westlake Prep, Ivan McCartney (6-1, 156) of Miramar, Willis Wright (6-1, 188) of Miami Springs, Josh Reese (5-11, 170) of Miami Central, and Michael Lee Harris (6-1, 180) of Miami Northwestern again is a group that has a variety of skill sets and is a very talented bunch.

Delvin Jones (6-6, 230) of Miami La Salle is a big time defensive end but will likely play some tight end on Sunday. Jones would be a huge target on offense. But will likely play defense at the next level.

Jaamal Bass (5-11, 189) of Miramar and Gideon Ajagbe (6-2, 198) of Coconut Grove Ransom Everglades are a couple of linebackers that are expected to make it to South Beach on Sunday. Ajagbe has visited Gainesville a few times in the last year and could play a number of positions.

Safety Demar Dorsey (6-2, 190) of Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson is already committed to Florida and was a combine star at the recent Under Armour combine in Orlando.

At least two big time cornerbacks are expected to be in attendance. Lamarcus Joyner (5-9, 162) of Miami Senior and Tony Grimes (5-11, 160) of Miramar look to make their names already bigger than they are by making the South Florida Express. Both players have expressed interest in the Gators. will have plenty to report back from South Beach and the tryout for the South Florida Express.
