The Brent Benedict File

The state of Florida is deep at a number of positions in 2010 - running back, cornerback, wide receiver and the offensive line. The Gators did a tremendous job in 2009 landing arguably the top offensive line in the country and are off to a great start with early commitment Ian Silberman. Jacksonville (FL) Bolles High School is home to one of the top offensive linemen in the state.

Brent Benedict is 6-5, 290-pounds and possesses great strength with a 385-pound bench and 550-pounds squat. Benedict holds numerous offers from teams such as Alabama, Arkansas, Boston College, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, FAU, FUI, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Tennessee, Maryland, Texas A&M, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

"I have no definite time table for making a final decision at this point," Benedict said. "I want to go somewhere I can contribute the most and that is the best fit for me academically, athletically and socially."

"I have not spoken to a coach that I didn't like and have visited Clemson, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. My strengths are athleticism, mental discipline and 'top of the line coaching. Things I need to work on is getting bigger, faster and stronger."
