Thompkins Could Come Back to Sunshine State

The Florida Gators have landed four wide receivers in the last two recruiting classes with T.J. Lawrence, Omarius Hines, Frankie Hammonds, and Andre DeBose. From the class of 2010, the Gators will bring in 3-4 true wide receivers and look to the junior college ranks for one of the nation's best.

Former Miami Northwestern standout Kenbrell Thompkins is 6-2.5 and 180-pounds and has true 4.4 speed. Currently at El Camino College in Torrance, Cali., Thompkins could wind up back in the Sunshine State before it's all said and done.

"I see myself fitting into their program very well," Thompkins said. "I like how the Gators run their offense, they throw the ball and use the wide receivers. I am a very outspoken person and I like to compete. My strengths are leadership, route running, hands, agility, run after the catch, toughness and awareness. The main thing I need to work on is being more crisp getting out of my breaks."

Current offers include Florida and LSU while his top schools include the previous two plus Miami, USC and Oregon. His favorite players growing up include Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders and Barry Sanders.

Thompkins doesn't have any visits set up at this time.
