Alabama Speedster Considering the Gators

Opelika (AL) High School is home to one of, if not, the fastest player in the state of Alabama. Corey Grant has blistering speed. The kind of speed that won him the 100-meters last year with a 10.6 time, and he also took home honors in the 200-meters. Currently 5-10 and 185-pounds, he is a very physical runner and his speed is unquestioned.

"I have offers from Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Southern Miss, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Oklahoma at this time," Grant said.

Communication between Florida and Grant have picked up recently.

"I talked to Coach Kenny Carter last week to try and get on the same page as far as my schedule goes, so I can get to Gainesville and see the school in the spring," he said. "I am a big fan of the SEC and followed Florida last year and was very impressed with what they did on the football field."

Grant talked about what makes him different from other top flight running backs.

"Speed and field vision is what I do best and I think I would be very successful in an offense like Florida's," Grant said. "I have talked to both Coach Heater and Coach Meyer and they both are telling me to keep up the good work with my grades."

"Right now I am enjoying the recruiting process to see how things go day by day," he added. "Academics, the school itself and the football program are the three main things that I will look at."

Grant ended his junior season with 22 touchdowns.
