Reese gets UF Offer

The Florida Gators will likely sign at least four receivers in the class of 2010 after only signing one in 2009. Three seniors are set to leave after the season and the need is apparent. Miami (FL) Central HS is home to one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2010 class in Josh Reese and the speedster just received an offer from the Gators and has family pushing him to Florida.

Josh Reese talked last week to Florida wide receiver coach Billy Gonzales about the Gators' desire for the 6-0, 180 pound receiver to be a part of the family in Gainesville.

"Coach Gonzales told me they have an offer waiting on me once they see my film," Reese said. "He didn't have a lot to say about my play."

His recruitment is just starting to heat up, but already has a couple of big name schools that have checked in early.

"I have offers from Florida, South Florida, UCF, FIU, Tennessee, and UCF," he said. "Florida is kind of at the top with Oregon and Georgia (not offered). I haven't talked to Miami at all yet. I have gotten one or two messages from Miami so far."

The Gators do offer some appeal to Reese who sees a chance to play early and also has family that really wants to see him in the orange and blue.

"I would go to Florida," Reese said. "I already live here so that's an advantage. I know they lost three receivers and going to lose three more receivers. They only got one receiver last year. I know I can go in there and play.

"My sister is telling me that Florida is a good school and I should go there. My aunts also tell me about Florida all the time. It's all day, Florida...Florida...Florida... One of them keeps talking about the National Championship and saying 'we are going to do it again'."

Reese believes more offers are coming shortly and the Ducks of Oregon are a school he would like to hear from.

"I think Oregon is going to offer soon," he said. "I want to go on a long trip and visit somewhere."

Josh Reese will take part in a few collegiate camps this summer, but he isn't sure just where yet. He's a physical receiver with good speeds and great hands. Scout.com will be following his recruitment closely.
