Robey's Speed Makes him Stand out

The Florida Gators and head coach Urban Meyer have stated that they want to have the fastest team in college football and with players like Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps and Andre Debose they are well on their way. One player that might factor into the equation is Frostproof's Nickell Robey.

Only 5-8 and 165-pounds, Nickell Robey more than makes up for his lack of size with his blistering speed.

"I have offers from Florida, Tennessee, South Florida, Stanford and now UCF," Robey said.

His top two choices at this time are the Gators and a team that has yet to offer, Virginia Tech.

"I like VT because they have a real nice defense that likes to play a lot of man," Robey said. "Florida is similar to VT when it comes to defensive backs and LSU because they are identical to Florida."

Robey has been to Gainesville and likes what he sees.

"I like Florida because it has a home type atmosphere and I am from Florida," Robey said. "I have a lot of contact with all the Florida coaches."

If Robey ends up with Florida he could end up on either side of the ball.

"On offense it's my amazing speed running past you and catching the ball creating havoc with defense," he said. "I can let my natural ability around the ball do its thing and I like to hit you and hit you hard. It's very exciting having interest from Florida because it's all about winning big and playing big."

Robey isn't sure where he'll end up but does know the factors he will use to make his choice.

"Getting my degree, trusting the coaches, playing time, environment and being around who want to make it big and going to a school that produces big-time defensive backs."
