Marcus Smith Loves the Gators

There have been numerous reports that Marcus Smith would pull the trigger to Florida on Friday and Friday came and went without a commitment. Then as soon as Friday was over there were numerous reports that Marcus Smith would commit on Saturday and that will not happen either.

While the 6-3, 215-pound quarterback from Columbus (GA) Hardaway High School loves it at Florida, it will be a little while longer before this unfolds completely.

"Man it was great," Marcus Smith said. "The weight room was great, practice was great and the coaches are great. I think I just made this my home. I loved it and it was very intense. I think the best part about it was the practice and just how intense they are out there. I had a chance to sit in on the quarterback meetings and met Tim Tebow. He does it in the classroom and on the field. Coach Loeffler and Coach Meyer both loved my film but they want to come watch me play in person before I commit to them and that's just fine by me. I love it there."

Florida had a number of top recruits in town this weekend to watch practice and they all made Smith feel like he was home.

"I met a number of top players and they all came up and talked to me like we have known each other for a long time. It is truly a family atmosphere in Gainesville on and off the field."
