Byrd is one to Watch

The state of Florida is loaded with playmakers and Clyde Byrd is no different. Last year at P.K. Yonge as a member of the Blue Wave, he ended his season with 10 touchdowns, 68 solo tackles, two kickoff returns for touchdowns and one interception.

As the nine weeks have started Clyde Byrd made the move to Gainesville High School to get ready for spring football. His cousin Clinton Portis and Uncle Dieric Jackson who holds the career interception record at GHS have met with coach Ryan Smith and have a great bond with him. They all believe that Byrd will have a better opportunity there than at P.K. Younge.

Byrd is very excited about the upcoming season and ready to be a purple hurricane and putting forth the effort to winning a state championship.

Byrd is 5-9 and 168-pounds and plays running back, cornerback and wide receiver and plans to camp at Florida over the summer and runs in the 4.6 range.
