Mauro Looking at Four

Vinnie Mauro plays for one of, if not, the top high school teams in America, St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale. At 6-2 and 215-pounds with a 4.65 40-time, he has offers from FIU and Navy at this time with interest from Wisconsin, Rutgers, Boston College and Miami.

"Navy is a favorite of mine because it's a dream of mine to serve my country as either a naval aviator or navy seal," Vinnie Mauro said.

Mauro has been on four visits and talked about each of them.

Florida: "I went to the Florida/LSU game last year with Brandon Linder and it awesome. I plan to attend their spring game with Brandon as well. I haven't had much contact with them other than just letters and camp invites, but I did meet Coach Strong at the LSU game. They are looking at me for the middle linebacker position. I see myself as a potential Brandon Spikes down the road in regards to stopping the run and pass coverage. I also think that my speed between the tackles would help given the speed of the SEC. I am very excited to potentially be a part of that kind of winning tradition and I feel like I could be a big contributor to their success in the future."

Miami: "I went to the Miami spring game and it was good."

FIU: "I went to the FIU spring game and it was good."

Navy: "I went to their camp last year and it greatly increased my interest."

The key factors for Mauro in determining his decision are education, coaching staff, winning tradition, campus life/college experience and the fan base.
