Gerald Christian Makes 12

The Florida Gators are on a recruiting high after landing Jordan Haden for their 11th verbal commitment from the class of 2010. Moments ago the Gators added another as four-star Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Dwyer star Gerald Christian decided today was the day to become a Gator commitment No. 12.

"I called Coach Meyer earlier and told him that I was committing to the University of Florida," Gerald Christian said. "He was real excited saying that he was waiting on me to become a Gator. Coach Meyer has always told me not to rush anything because they would be waiting for me. I decided today was the day I wanted to do it. I have always known I was going to be a Gator but with all the drama and everything I wanted to get this done. I am shutting the recruiting process down."

As for what position Christian will play at Florida, well that depends on which coach you talk with.

"Coach Strong wants me to play linebacker, but I will start out playing tight end just like Aaron Hernandez," Christian said. "It's real exciting watching him play and he plays the entire game on offense and is such a huge part of the offense, I can't wait to be a part of that."

Christian has 19 offers at this time from such schools as Florida, Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Alabama, South Carolina, Boston College, Rutgers and many more.
