Christopher Scott (Junior, walk-on) was the offensive surprise of the spring. He showed power and the ability to get extra yards after contact. He isn't as fast as the others, but he too showed the ability to make people miss in the open field. Scott weighs in t 212 pounds and could be that short yardage back able to keep the Gators' fast guys healthy and away from all the pounding.
Jeff Demps (Sophomore) missed most of the spring while working out with the track team. He did practice for a few days and looked healthy after groin surgery in the off-season, but we don't have a real report on him.
Emmanuel Moody (Junior) had a good spring and ran hard. He showed a few times that he is a very capable pass receiver out of the backfield and looked really impressive catching and running with short flare passes out of the backfield. If there was a knock still, it would be that he seems to line up wrong or do the wrong assignment on a play more than the others.
Chris Rainey (Sophomore) is still nursing his injury but looked very quick out there after his January surgery. Rainey started off slow in the spring and progressed with more long runs as the spring wore on. He too looked great catching the ball out of the backfield on flare passes and also caught a few down field. Urban Meyer intends on using him in the slot some this year ad I was disappointed to not see him there at all in the spring.
Here are video highlights of Scott, Moody, and Rainey from spring...
