West Coast James Eyes the Gators

With the addition of Coach Bryan White at the University of Florida, the Gators have opened up new pipe lines in recruiting that lead to the West Coast. Jordon James is a perfect example. James from Corona (CA) is one of the top running backs in the state of California and on the West Coast.

At 5-10 and 190-pounds, Jordon James can do it all showing the ability to run inside or outside with his 4.4 speed. A time that was backed up at a recent combine (laser time). With speed to burn it's no wonder that teammates call him "The Flash". Coach Bryan White visited Corona High School Thursday and James couldn't have been more excited that he took the time to come to his school.

"Coach White came by the school today and that was real cool because I have a lot of interest in Florida right now," James said. "I also had a chance to speak with head coach Urban Meyer yesterday as well and talking to him was real cool after my track meet."

"We play in the Big 8 which is the best conference in the state of California so we are playing the best teams on the West Coast. Last season I had 130 carries for 1,135 yards and 11 touchdowns."

What makes that even more impressive is it was done in only four and a half games due to a broken arm in the fifth game of the season.

"That injury was very frustrating to me because I spent a lot of time on the sidelines during practice and at the games just watching without being able to help my team win."

James has 16 offers from teams such as Florida, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Arizona, Stanford, California, UCLA and Washington. He said a few stand out and are recruiting him the most at this time.

"Florida, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford and Washington are recruiting me the most."

While James has not had a chance to watch a lot of Gator games in its entirety he has done the next best thing.

"I am on you-tube every other day watching highlights of Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps and Percy Harvin because I think I can do the exact same things in that offense that those guys do. I want to go where I feel comfortable. I want to feel good about the current players, the recruits, the coaches and the system wherever I end up. I plan on announcing my decision at this year's Under Armour game in Orlando, Fla. I will go to a camp in Orlando this summer in July so I can go with my mom to check out Florida while we are down there."

James had no favorites teams growing up just favorite players and they are Reggie Bush and Percy Harvin.
