Dowling Talks Gators

Jonathan Dowling, a 6-3, 185-pounder from Bradenton (FL) Southeast, is not only a great football player but a great person off the field. One of the most impressive things about the Florida 2010 recruiting class is the chemistry that they have shown early in the recruiting process.

All of the players truly care about each other and are of high character. Jonathan Dowling is one of the top players in the Southeast and to give you an idea of what kind of person he is I spoke with him about some reasons why he picked the Gators.

"Well Florida has a 100 percent graduation rate and they offer just about every major there is," Dowling said. "I love the coaching staff and they tell you everything straight up. The amount of time you play is up to you and how hard you work to earn it. Right now Major Wright is the only player that stands in my way. They also have the ability to compete for conference and national titles every single season. The defense that they run is a lot like the scheme we run at my school so it won't be hard for me to learn it completely the way they run it. Coach Meyer is just overwhelming when you meet him and he is very easy to speak with and just easy to get along with. My dad loved the school as soon as he stepped foot on campus. My mom felt the exact same way and they both have a great relationship with the coaching staff. My high school coach also feels like it's a great fit and has a great relationship with the staff as well. For me it already felt like home and I am ready to be a Gator each and every moment of each and every day. Florida is so family oriented and there is nothing you can hate about that. Florida is the real 'U'."

Dowling is one of the top players in the state not only when speaking about his football skills but his leadership skills off the field as well. He is going to make a great addition to the Gators.
