O.J. Ross Names Leader

O.J. Ross is one of, if not, the fastest player in the state of Florida. At 5-10 and 178-pounds running 4.36 he has blinding speed. Coming off an impressive junior campaign in which he totaled 34 catches for close to 700 yards and 10 touchdowns, teams are taking notice.

"I was offered by Ole Miss today," O.J. Ross said. "Texas Tech is very interested in me and so is South Carolina. South Carolina will be down this week and Kentucky is showing me a lot of attention as well. The teams that have offered me now with Ole Miss are Michigan, Arkansas, FIU, and Central Florida."

While he hasn't heard much from Florida since he watched them practice he does feel like one team stands out above the rest at this time.

"I would have to say the leader right now is Arkansas."

My Take:
His measurables were backed up at a Scout combine including the laser time of 4.36. He is a perfect size, weight and speed for the slot position in the spread offense. I have a short list of 18 wide receivers on my board at this time that all have serious interest in the Gators. The hard part for the staff or any coaching staff for that matter is trying to gauge the level of seriousness by each potential player to determine all the different scenarios that would in turn give the Gators the 3-5 best possible players at that position they can sign. It remains unclear at this time if Ross will get his Florida offer. If he does his leader would quickly change if I had to guess. Ross is a player that you should not forget about moving forward.
