Florida's WR Board

The Gators have landed four wide receivers in the last two recruiting classes with T.J. Lawrence, Omarius Hines and Frankie Hammond two years ago and last year taking multi-talented Andre Debose. From the class of 2010 you can expect the Gators to try and sign anywhere from three to five wide receiver prospects.

These are the most likely prospects at the position at this time. There is not a wide receiver that I will list that doesn't have high interest in the Gators. Obviously the Gators can't take 20 but this is a great problem to have. It is very difficult to pick only four with the amount of talent showing Florida strong interest. Even if you settle on four how can you be sure you have the right ones? This is why no wide receivers have gone public at this time.

The staff is doing its due diligence checking on every single detail not only at all positions but because of the numbers they would like to take especially at the wide receiver position.

Kenbrell Thompkins (6-2/190/Torrance (CA) El Camino College)
Solomon Patton (5-9/165/Mobile (AL) Murphy)
Chris Dunkley (6-0/170/Pahokee (FL))
Kadron Boone (6-0/200/Ocala (FL) Trinity Catholic)
James Louis (6-0/170/Delray Beach (FL) Atlantic Community)
Da' Rick Rogers (6-3/207/Calhoun (GA))
Christian Green (6-1/190/Tampa (FL) Catholic)
James Haynes (6-1 and 186-pounds from West Orange (TX) Stark)
Justin McCay (6-4/205/Roeland Park (KS) Bishop Miege)
Ivan McCartney (6-2/185/Miramar (FL))
Markeith Ambles (6-3 and 185-pounds from McDonough (GA) Henry County)
Demarco Cobbs (6-2/200/Tulsa (OK) Central)
Trovon Reed (6-0/180/Thibodaux (LA))
Quinton Dunbar (6-3/170/Miami (FL) Booker T. Washington)
B.J. Bostic (5-9/170/Louisville (GA) Jefferson County)
O.J. Ross (5-10/177/Daytona Beach (FL) Mainland)
Kenny Shaw (6-1/165/Orlando (FL) Dr. Philips)

That is my top 17 in no particular order, and like I mentioned, it looks like the Gators will try and sign 3-5 for this year's class. The lower the number in the class the harder it becomes to decide which three or four they would take.

Also, another factor to consider is which wide receivers that have high interest in the Gators at this present time might shy away from a class with three other players coming in with them. I have been in touch with a few more at the wide receiver position so don't be surprised if somewhere along the way a few others start to emerge. Right now I feel strongly about more than four but feel real good on which four are most likely to be in the class plus a fifth that is not listed above.
