Ash with High Interest in the Gators

Pahokee (FL) defensive lineman Richard Ash likes what he sees from the Gators. At 6-4 and 245-pounds, Ash plays all over the defensive line but many project the Pahokee standout to make the move inside at the next level.

"We are about to put the pads on and I am ready to show all of these rookies how we do things down here," Richard Ash said. "So far all we have been doing is sled work and conditioning drills so I am ready to hit somebody."

Ash has 11 offers to date from programs like Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Purdue, Minnesota, Ole Miss and more.

"I stay in touch with the Florida staff every week. Coach Billy Gonzales and I email each other all the time. Coach Meyer emails me as well. I like Florida a bunch right now you can say they are my leader. I am going to call Coach McCarney today (Thursday)."

Ash wants to take visits including one later this month to Florida State.

"Later this month I am going to go visit Tallahassee with a few of my teammates. I just want to go wherever I feel comfortable playing."

While Ash is looking hard at the Gators and considering Florida State it's an out of state program that is recruiting him the most at this time.

"I get letters every single day from Tennessee they are recruiting me real hard right now. They came down to visit the other day but I wasn't at school that day because it was senior skip day."

My Take:
Right now, the Gators are the team to beat but with Ash wanting to shop around I am not so sure he will have a spot depending on how long he wants to wait. With trips to California, Georgia, Florida State, West Virginia and Tennessee on the horizon it doesn't appear he is anywhere close to making a decision, not a public one anyway.
