Spring Recruit Tracker: Ken Maclome

At 5-11 and 216-pounds Malcome might not be the fastest running back around, but he has great vision and power. He finds the crease well and if it's not there, he has a good change of direction. Malcome from Decatur (GA) Southwest DeKalb talks about the latest.

"Spring has been going real good for me right now," Ken Malcome said. "I am coming off track so I feel very fresh but now it's time to get back in my rhythm and start focusing on football. On offense we are looking okay but all of our wide receivers are real young and just aren't ready yet. We also lost our offensive coordinator so we have to build with what we have."

While the offense is still trying to find its way, the defense will be the strength of the team early on.

"The defense is still looking good. We have just about everyone back from last year and we have a key addition so they look stronger than ever."

North Carolina, Oklahoma, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi State, Florida to name a few have been to Southwest so far this spring with many more on the way.

Malcome talked about being a leader and the game to watch this season.

"Our big game this year is MLK, you know I have a friend on that team, Mack Brown. They are always talking how they are going to beat us, but we know they are just scared but we will be ready. My role as a leader this year is simple, lead by example and don't do anything I wouldn't want the younger guys to do. I always run on the field and lead in the classroom. My coach and I have been talking about camps that we want to attend but we are not sure at this time where we are going to visit."
