My Take: The Greens

At 6-6 and 270-pounds, offensive tackle Chaz Green is one of the top players in the nation and certainly one of the best the state of Florida has to offer. Tampa (FL) Catholic has another Green, quarterback Christian who has been a childhood friend of Chaz since the age of 11 years old.

Chaz Green is down to three teams with Florida, USC, and Tennessee. USC has been one of the most dominating recruiting teams we have ever seen over the last six years. Florida has been the best team in the country the last few years and has matched USC in recruiting every step of the way and Tennessee is fortunate that both of Green's parents went to school in Knoxville.

I have maintained for a long time that I thought Chaz Green would be a part of this class and my feelings have not changed on that.

The Florida staff recently went to watch both Greens practice. Five Florida coaches were in attendance, including Charlie Strong, Kenny Carter, Billy Gonzales, Steve Adazzio and Dan McCarney. Needless to say the visit by the Gator coaches went over very well with both sets of parents and players.

Christian Green has yet to name his top few schools publicly, but look for it to happen very soon and look for both Florida and Florida State to be at the top. Chaz Green will look to make an announcement sooner rather than later, but I believe he and his family know the destination.

From everything that I know and everyone that I have talked to regarding this matter all signs point to Gainesville.

With Chaz Green on board in addition to Ian Silberman the Gators will have two of the most dominating offensive tackle prospects in the state of Florida. Chaz Green would be the second offensive linemen to commit to Florida for the class of 2010 and you can expect one more offensive linemen worst case scenario.
