Georgia Receiver Gets Big Ten Offer

Alpharetta (GA) receiver Michael Bennett got his first BCS conference scholarship offer on Tuesday when Indiana University offered a full ride to play football for the Hoosiers. Bennett is on a roll in the last few weeks after getting his first offer and is now up to seven.

Seldom used in 2008,Michael Bennett has displayed his ability to college recruiters at practice in Alpharetta under a new coaching staff. That ability has netted him college scholarship offers from Akron, Air Force, Central Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Southern Miss, and UAB.

SEC programs like Florida,Georgia, and Vanderbilt have all shown a good deal of interest. Big Ten power Michigan State is Bennett's father's alma mater and they too are recruiting the receiver who has good size and excellent speed.

Indiana is the first BCS program that has offered Bennett who last year netted 500 yards of receiving and most of that in the first three games of the season before the offense changed and he all but disappeared. In his spring game earlier in May,Bennett had over 100 yards and two touchdowns receiving and 20 plus yards rushing as the new coaching staff at Alpharetta looks to get their play maker the ball. Bennett informed Scout.com of his new offer Tuesday and we will continue to monitor his recruitment closely.
