Ace Stands out at Gator Camp

At 5-7 and 160-pounds, wide receiver prospect Ace Sanders from Bradenton (FL) Manatee High School certainly isn't one of the biggest or strongest receivers around. But then again he is one of the quickest you will see.

Ace Sanders made the short trek to Gainesvlle yesterday to work out at Florida's first camp of the summer.

"I got up there around 8:30 a.m. because I was running a little bit late," he said. "They had me jump right in once I arrived. I went right to some drills and stuff like that then we headed over to the practice field and did some one-on-one stuff. That went real well that's when they started to notice me, I think during that period."

"After that I had a couple of coaches come up and to talk to me. Coach Gonzales came up and told me he liked how I ran routes and how elusive I was and told me I was exciting to watch perform. Coach Meyer told me I reminded him of Brandon James and likes my potential at kick return. I was real excited that I was hearing so much good stuff from Urban Meyer especially when he was comparing me to a guy like Brandon James."

"That was my first camp stop so far but I am heading to Georgia and Clemson coming up soon."

Sanders enjoyed the entire day but for he and his family one moment takes the cake.

"I think the best part of the trip was getting to meet Coach Meyer and talking to him was the highlight of my day. When my mom and I met him that was the highlight of the day I think no doubt about it."

Sanders has offers from Indiana, Purdue and South Florida. He is a talented wide receiver prospect who finished his junior season with 29 catches for 575 yards and seven touchdowns.
