Nick Waisome spent time in Gainesville for camp and had a chance to catch up with cornerbacks coach Vance Bedford.
"It was real cool," he said. "Coach Bedford and I had some one-on-one stuff so he could evaluate me and met all the coaches. It was real live and a great day. I played exclusively at wide receiver last year and only started playing cornerback since last January and ever since then I have gone to all these camps playing corner and then all the teams starting showing me love. I always have played offense but corner is real cool. It's more of a challenge and offense is more of a fun thing. I can go out there and dominate on offense, I think, but defense is more challenging I think."
Waisome talked about his relationship with Demps and Harrison.
"I mean Jeff was on varsity before I was but those guys always worked hard and showed leadership," he said. "My relationship with those guys was real good. It gives me great motivation. I went to the spring game and one home game last year against Citadel. It was a big crowd and something that I like about Florida. But other schools have big crowds as well. But I love the atmosphere. My mom is real high on academics and when it comes to decision time that will be a big factor for my family and me. I don't plan on making any kind of decision until my senior year.
"I like Florida State, Florida, Miami and USC even though I haven't had that much contact with them. They have a good program going on over there, and I like Oregon."
Waisome talked about each of his offers.
"The Canes were my first offer and Coach Barrow and I have been talking a lot and we have a great relationship. He is a real cool dude. Central Florida offered me but I didn't get a chance to go on a tour. I just met Coach Collins and that was about it. Florida State has been given me a lot of love and offered me as well. Coach Dexter Carter is a real cool guy and stuck on school and academics and that is real important to me and my family."
