Dorsey Prepping to Enroll Early

If there has been any school in the country to take advantage of student athletes graduating from high school early and enrolling in college in time for spring football it is the university of Florida. Add Gator commitment Demar Dorsey to the list of prospects that are trying to do just that. The defensive back from Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson is busy this summer doing just that.

Demar Dorsey ran the fastest combine time in the country this year with his 4.25 in the 40-yard dash in Orlando in January. At 6-1 and 180 pounds Dorsey is a big time athlete that has received a lot of interest and still is. So far this summer he has spent his time on school and staying in shape.

"I have just been working out and trying to get school things situated," Dorsey said. "I am taking a class at school and an on-line class this summer. I am trying to enroll early so I am trying to get ahead with my classes."

His commitment to Florida hasn't stopped other programs from stepping in and trying to lure him away. Dorsey said from his original commitment that he would likely visit other schools and they have definitely lined up to show their interest in the speedy defender. He will visit a few this summer.

"I am going to Friday Night Lights at Florida," he said. "I am going up there with my coach. I will probably visit more camps but my coach and I haven't set them up yet."

In the fall he will likely take five visits and he knows a few already.

"I haven't set up any officials yet," he said. "I will probably visit Tennessee, USC, West Virginia, I will make an official to Florida and one more."

Though visits will likely be made, Dorsey contends that Florida is still the place for him and that as time goes by he learns more about the Gators that keeps his interest high.

"I am still committed to Florida," he said. "They are still at the top because I committed their first. I still like them a lot because every time I look into them I learn something new I like. When Moses Jenkins comes down here I hear more about it. He tells me how it is, how they work out, and how they get situated for games and stuff. I also know it is good for me academic wise at Florida."

The Demar Dorsey recruitment will be fretted by Gator fans until he signs. We will be there to cover his recruitment throughout the process.
