DE Talks About Gator Visit

Maurice Charles talks about his official visit to the University of Florida. Next week, he travels to FSU and Tallahassee. He is a defensive end from Miami.

Maurice Charles is a coveted defensive end from South Florida. When Miami, FSU and Florida want you, you must be pretty good. Charles, from Miami (Fla.) Carol City, took an official visit to Gainesville this past weekend.

"I expected it to be a good visit and it was," said Charles. "I really enjoyed myself. It felt like home, especially with Taurean (cousin) being my host. We are pretty close. Coach Zook and the staff seem like wonderful coaches and they keep it real with you. I think Coach Strong is going to make a big difference with their defense."

Charles is scheduled to visit Florida State (1-17) and NC State (1-24). He would also like to set up trips to South Florida and Rutgers.

"I am also looking at Miami but I will not waste an official on them because I have been there a lot. Right now, I do not have a leader and no plan for when I will commit. But I think there is a good chance I will stay in-state."

Charles, 6-2 and 244 pounds, will play in the Dade/ Broward County All-Star game next weekend.
