Ross Focused on Getting Better

At 5-11, 176-pounds, wide receiver O.J. Ross from Daytona Beach (FL) Mainland High School has one thing on his mind and that's to get better.

"Things are going great right now," O.J. Ross said. "I am working out four times a week, alternating lifting, sprints and running hills."

Ross has a total of 18 offers and recently attended camp at the University of Florida.

"It was alright I guess. I mean I did not get an offer from them but it was okay. I had a good time."

Right now Ross has a top five, in no particular order, that includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Rutgers, West Virginia and Purdue.

Defensive coordinator Charlie Strong is recruiting Ross, and if Strong and head coach Urban Meyer do decide to offer, it would put the Gators in his top five.

"If they offer, Florida would make my top five and knock one of my current five out."

Ross plans to take those five officials and make a decision after the season.

One of the fastest receivers in the state, Ross finished his junior season with 34 catches for just less than 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named an honorable mention All-State FSWA 5A, All Central Florida Second Team, All-Area First Team and All-County (Volusia). Ross has been timed as fast as 4.36
